The five limbs of the Indian calendar, computed from Sun and Moon geometry for the present moment. Tithi and karaṇa follow from the Sun–Moon elongation; nakshatra and yoga additionally require a sidereal zero point, which is stated rather than assumed.
This page computes a calendar, not a verdict
“The tithi is Caturthī and the nakshatra is Hasta” is a statement about where the Sun and Moon are. It is arithmetic, and it is checkable. Whether such a moment is auspicious is a separate claim belonging to a named tradition, and it is not made here.
The Jyotiṣa tradition is registered in the tradition layer with no published muhūrta rules, because that layer refuses any rule lacking a verbatim passage from a rights-cleared edition. The arithmetic below is deliberately kept apart from interpretation so that neither borrows the other’s credibility.

Lahiri (Chitrapakṣa), anchored at J2000.0 and advanced by IAU 2006 general precession in longitude. Independently measured within 0.0042° of Swiss SIDM_LAHIRI over the 1600–2099 conformance corpus. A different ayanāṁśa shifts nakshatra and yoga, and leaves tithi and karaṇa unchanged.
Positions come from astronomy-engine (MIT), which derives from JPL ephemerides. Values within 0.05° of a division edge are flagged rather than asserted, since a small change in ayanāṁśa or instant would flip them.
